This is NOT a duplicate of bug #497746. They might be related, though. How can

The related bug says telepathy-butterfly is crashing when resuming. I never

The two bugs are the same in essence - the CPU hits 100% when Empathy
tries to connect to the MSN network. This can occur when you initially
open Empathy, or when you resume a network connection after putting

This bug still happens in maverick. There is no upstream-bug to be found
on bugs.freedesktop.org. I don't have an account there. If there's
anyone with an account, please file the bug. Otherwise I might get
around to this in the weekend and file the bug upstream.
