In http://launchpadlibrarian.net/41871154/UdevMonitorLog.txt we see that
the kernel/udev detected the new drive (and its capabilities) just fine,
but it did not see any ID_CDROM_MEDIA_* properties, i. e. it did not
detect the medium in it. The other strange thing there is
ID_TYPE=floppy, but
I also tested this with killing udisks-daemon before, just to ensure
that it's not udisks which triggers additional change events. I still
get the CD recognized just fine.
Marjo, can you please try a couple of things on that affected system in
that situation?
sudo /lib/udev/cdrom_id /dev/sr0

Marjo,
can you confirm that on current lucid it does work when you insert the
audio CD when the drive is already attached, but it doesn't work when
you attach the entire drive to the computer while the audio CD is
already inserted?

Martin,
On current Lucid, the following scenarios now work as I expect.
1. Insert the audio CD when the drive is already attached. This works. Comment
#4.
2. Attach the entire drive to the computer while the audio CD is already
inserted. This works. This comment #6.
Attaching latest udev log
Udev after testing both scenarios that work.
