I installed Ubuntu 10.04 server and wanted a minimum ubuntu desktop environment so I ran the following command: sudo aptitude install --without-recommends ubuntu-desktop. When I did this, everything worked correctly but I did not have any indicators. Thankfully I found this bug and was able to rem

I just upgraded two machines to the new lucid release, and in each of them, indicator-session was not installed by default and had to be manually installed. ubuntu-desktop was also not kept installed during the upgrade. Does anyone know what might cause this? -- Indicator-applet-session shows 'no
