Thanks for the bug report. It would be really helpful if you could try
the latest version of empathy and telepathy-butterfly in Ubuntu 10.10 as
there has been quite a few months and there have been alot of changes in
telepathy-butterfly. hopefully this bug got fixed at some point.

It happens with all of my MSN contacts. But it takes a while for it to
happen, maybe around 3~4 hrs of non-stop chatting it's suddenly just
going to happen.
I'm going to see the typing icon in the chat window and that's it.
Nothing. I also use Kmess, but it never happened with it - just with
