I believe that the problem here is that Ubuntu took a broken version
from Debian and released it. The Version for Debian stable doesn't
present this prolem, so this cannot be fixed in Debian package. What I
suggest to Ubuntu developers is to change the init.d file from any 6.0.4
or 6.0.5 Debian
so is it worth backporting the init.d file from debian stable and using it?

This bug does not happen when you first install hylafax-server. It
happens (verified on 1 production and 1 test machines) when you
uninstall and install.
On one of the machines it happened when I unistalled postfix-dovecot

Keeping away from maverick, trying to install a reliable lucid-server
system. Applied the diff (as per

and the problem remains. At the end of the install the process enters an
infinite loop asking for
