(Card0.Codecs.codec.0.txt) has revealed that my PCM level is overdriven; the
offset to 0 dB (which should correspond to 100%) is
0x3d, but the number of steps
The abovementioned fix has been included upstream in kernel 2.6.32.12.

To clarify the above patch, the PCM node's number of offsets to 0 dB
needs to be capped at the actual 0 dB offset. The manifestation as
explained originally in bug 548661 is a consequence of this mismatch.
