Okay, so I've got all the debug symbols installed, and now something
different is happening.
When I close the Xnest session (running on :1), or even when I log out
of the nested session, I get booted from virtual terminal 7 (X) to some
other virtual terminal (can't tell which one because of an unr
New versions of Xnest don't cause the crash.

Thanks for your bug report. Could you please try to obtain a
backtrace of xnest by following the instructions on
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash.
This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.
Also can you please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Oops... sorry, it still occurs. The Xnest window is usable, but it still
crashes when you close it.
