Yes, there was a server side issue yesterday that was affecting the
client connecting to the server.This has now been resolved. As
everything appears to be working now I believe this may have been the
root cause of your issue.

well.. today the icon displays 'connected' and everything works fine. I
did reboot yesterday but the problem persisted.. could it be a ubuntuone
server issue?
since it works fine now I leave it like it is but thanks a lot for your
support!!

Please try removing ubuntuone completely (including the Ubuntu One token) by

the icon displays 'disconnected' (a few seconds after connecting) but
