Hmm...this is tricky. It almost feels like you're having hardware problems with
your machine, but I'm far from sure.
At least we know that the probe_mask doesn't screw things up then. Also, there
is an existing quirk for your machine, indicating that very similar machines
work.

soundcard is actually working and/or when it has been working and then fails,

Well, I tried a lot of things before giving it up. I tried compiling
ALSA myself, upgrading, the million options the intel driver has, all
without a complete success.

In the boot log, there an error report from alsa. "No codecs found!",
unfortunately I don't know how to correct it.
