I'm the lead developer of xinput_calibrator, the generic touchscreen
calibrator for X.org.
You can find deb packages for lucid in my ppa (can upload it for other releases
too...):

I have the same problem on Asus R2H, the touchscreen does work but needs
calibration.

The correct calibration program I think is xinput_calibrator [1]

It is simple and usable, actively maintained, works with a number of
drivers, and has both an X11 and GTK version.

i am testing lucid (beta 2) PC (Intel x86) netbook live with my samsung
Q1. touchscreen kinda works but yes we need calibration though.

Moving to the appropriate package - evdev now handles the touchscreen.
I'm not sure how calibration is expected to work at this point.

to be included and fixed to understand where to find the touchscreen -
it uses HAL and must be changed (i am sure that other input devices
needed to be changed from HAL to the new system). where is a descriptiv
