Update: this is fixed for me in Maverick with kernel 2.6.35-23. It may
also be fixed in earlier kernels, I was a little late to update.

I also get this issue with symptoms described in initial report. I have
been able to resume reliably in Hardy but since then it has not worked.
Hardware is a Compaq V5000 laptop. Currently running Lucid with kernel
2.6.32.22. What information should I collect ?

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstre
