Just updated today and wireless stopped working. In addition connecting
with wireless trough my wireless router is as slow as to be unusable
(ie. I can't install packages trough it because "something wicked
happened resolving "fi.archive.ubuntu.com"). If I remember correctly the
same thing has happ

I have a 3Com OfficeConnect CRWE154G72 version 1 fully working with the
provisos above. After upgrading the system and installing the 3 packages
mentioned above and restarting between each action. There is a big
difference between version 1 and version 2 of these cards.

I have the same 3com card and tried installing
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
but now I seem to be having random lockups especially when deluge is
running and there is a lot of traffic.
I now have an internal broadcom card that isn't working well, slow,
timeouts. Same with a pcmcia
Just to clarify the hotplug position after the last package was
installed, I now have:
1) On reboot/restart: if the card is not present but is inserted after
the system is up, I need to remove the card and insert it again, then
the card is picked up and the connection established automatically.

While the above packages did provide me with a stable WiFi connection, I
noticed that hotplug was not being supported and if the PCMCIA card was
not present at startup or was ejected during a session and then re-
inserted it would not be recognised and the interface was lost. So
hotplug was not bei

Needless to say, you need to connect using a wired ethernet interface to
get the above packages and install them. And one more thing, I did a
full upgrade when the cable connection was available before getting the
packages above.

I have had the same problem with the update to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid
Lynx). From 8.10 then to 9.04 then to 9.10 everything worked out of the
box but suddenly no connection now with 3Com 3CRWE154G72 officeconnect
pcmcia card. I got the 2 very faint lights on but no activity and no
recognition that

My card doesn't work anymore too. I've just installed Official 10.04 LTS
Desktop not beta or RC.
My 3Com card worked pretty fine in 9.10 but not in 10.04. Leds normally
blinking do not even light up (or better, just a little in the dark of the card
I can see two LED very lightly dimmed on.
