I can confirm this. I have a Philips Webcam which worked perfectly on
dapper and now produces only gray images. This can is also using the pwc
driver.
Also if I switch to v4l2 in the ekiga options it can't even open the
device. v4l2 in ekiga also worked in dapper.

Well, as I wrote in my bug report, I've had this working in Dapper as well.
The bug report only concerns the current kernel in edgy.
Too bad to hear you haven't had the cam working in kopete, though. I were
really looking forward to that, since many of my contacts have cams.

I use Kubuntu 6.06 LTS and 2.6.15-23-i386 kernel (2.6.15-26 is sound
broken and touchpad does not work in laptop) and in my system (Fujitsu-
Siemens Amilo L7300G2 laptop) this webcam works. I have exact the same
webcam. It works with Ekiga (http://www.ekiga.org/) and GV4L
