Michael DePaulo, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/

I also have same Problem on Dell D610 couse its video card settings are changable on Windows and on battery it takes less video. So since on Ubuntu i cant jet change video Performance its draining video on Max (witch for now isnt quite as fast also BTW). AND battery on Ubuntu starts by showing 7

fresh install fixed this. Having to wipe out a whole system and completely re-download Ubuntu seems silly, especialy since I used the exact same package list, but it's solved my problem for now. Really would like to know the root cause though. My full current config posted at http://ubuntuforums
