Do you still have this problem with the final version of Ubuntu 10.04
LTS? If so does moving/removing the ~/.openoffice.org* directories help
resolve the problem?

Well for starters you didn't mention if anything on your Ubuntu machine
could still print, just that OOo did not. So does anything print?
