I'll second this problem. Differences: I'm using Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Turning off desktop effects DOES solve the problem. Edit-Preferences didn't render. Sub-menus don't render. Message pane doesn't render. Everything is really slow. System is completely up to date as of May 3rd. --
