1) The impossibility of dismissing a notification drives me crazy too.

I cannot click through the bubbles. I don't know why. First, they tend
to be opaque so I would have no idea what I'm clicking through to.
Maybe on your 12-core xenon blade servers they do something different,
but on my normal systems they are sticky and tend to leave a nearly
opaque box covering
I agree, I'd classify this more as a misjudgment than a bug though. It's
annoying, not customizable, and notifications are not dismiss able.
Hovering over the notifications just blur them. It's horrific.
