Public bug reported: The problem appeared imediately after upgrade from Karmic to Lucid - I can't get ATA interface working on kernel 2.6.32 while it was working without problems on 2.6.31. Kernel says that ATA interface is "limited to UDMA/33 due to 40-wire cable" but I have 80-wire cable which worked without problems on Kubuntu versions from Breezy/Dapper to Karmic... After it's finding devices the ATA interface gets timeout and resets in consequence after few tries it gets disabled. $ dmesg | grep ata [ 0.000000] BIOS-e820: 00000000abfd0000 - 00000000abfde000 (ACPI data) [ 0.000000] modified: 00000000abfd0000 - 00000000abfde000 (ACPI data) [ 0.000000] #0 [0000000000 - 0000001000] BIOS data page ==> [0000000000 - 0000001000] [ 0.000000] Memory: 2762944k/2817856k available (4673k kernel code, 53452k reserved, 2122k data, 656k init, 1908552k highmem) [ 0.000000] .data : 0xc0590613 - 0xc07a2e48 (2122 kB) [ 0.248347] libata version 3.00 loaded.
