Hello,
I encounter these messages on my netbook as well.
Lucid Netbook Edition with kernel 2.6.33-22, using X-server 1.7.6 here.
I currently have some trouble with touchscreen after upgrade from karmic
... maybe this is relevant?
To be honest, I don't understand the "detaching slave device" part
