Reproducible - oh yes! Connect a USB drive, e.g. MaxtorOneTouch (500GB drive) and then when Ubuntu detects the connected USB, click on the USB icon on the desktop or click on Places then Home Folder, either step you can see the USB drive connected. Click on it and click on sub folders etc, it gre
