I solved it by using a dvi cable from graphic card to the dipsplay
instead of the display port cable I used before...

I have this issue with an Nvida Quadro FX 4800.
-> No display, just black screen and monitor shows "no signal".

I have exactly the same problem with an ATI Radeon hd 5770.
It seems to be a problem with the ATI radeon hd 5000 series...
