Public bug reported: Binary package hint: prelink
I activated prelink via /etc/defaults/prelink and after a while I realized that my system went mad, i.e. a load of 30 and everything was crashing. I couldn't even do a "ls". Booting was not possible (sic!) because of "sh: Out of space" in the AppArmor script in init-bottom in the initrd. What it does is to go off to the root partition and installs some profiles. But when chrooting to the root image, it uses the libc in the libc, too. And that has been compromised by prelink. So I had to figure out to copy a fresh libc-2.11.1.so over the over the old one and then to a chroot /media/root /bin/prelink -ua in order to fix it. I consider this to be a very serious issue because you cannot even boot into rescue mode.
