I can still reproduce this problem, frequency: 1 out of 3 suspend/resume
cycles.
Hardware marked as HP Elitebook 8440p, graphics card:

Is there any information I can provide? (please provide in
No, it does not work in Natty as of now. I can post the lspci -v if
you'd like. It should be noted there is different hardware sometimes in
laptops marked as "8440p" by HP.

Setting to "Fix Released" because this bug is just fixed now (hope I'm
not breaking any rules with this move). I'm going to open a new bug
regarding the problem with configuring displays I mentioned above.

2.6.35-20.29 kernel from Ubuntu Kernel PPA (or Maverick daily live CD)
fixes suspend/resume for me, but breaks configuring monitors with xrandr
or gnome-display-properties. After applying changes display flickers and
only the pointer is visible. External LCD display reports "out-of-range"
error. Sw
Problem is the same problem with eDP but it is not an Intel, it is NV.

It's Intel Ironlake/Arrandale graphics. This bug must be the same as
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=597141 , but apparently
Fedora guys found a fix for in their 2.6.34.2-32.rc1.fc13 kernel.

Sounds really strange.
Maybe a silly question, but which video driver are you using (nvidia or
nouveau)?

What's more, plugging an external monitor works from live CD, but ends
up with black screen from the same installed system. I think that this
two issues are connected.

Alas, mainline 2.6.34 (or 2.6.35 and every other available mainline or
Ubuntu kernel too) does not work for me. Laptop suspends well, but never
wakes up. The fans starts to wail out loud, but the screen remains black
and keyboard responds only to magic SysRq sequence. That's why I asked.

I also have this problem on a 8440p, but with integrated graphics on i7-620M.
I have tried the latest lucid kernel, 2.6.33.3 and 2.6.34-rc5 from the mainline
PPA - all these kernels are affected by this bug.
