I installed eee-acpi-utilities to be able to set my netbook to power saver mode on battery. This solved my overheating problem for the time being although temp still hovers at 50-52 degrees C on normal use. I know this is not a Ubuntu solution. There should be a way to control temperature from

Dear Jeremy, I am sorry but I am not that good in linux specifically kernel compilation,etc. Also I have installed eeepc utililty to bring the unit to power save mode just to bring down the heat at the expense of speed. Sorry to say but this issue is a show stopper for me. Overheating issues
