I disabled Jupiter (as eee-tray is now called) from the startup
application menu but nonetheless Suspend and Hibernate are not working.
And I don't have my home folder encrypted.

I had the same exact issue on my 1005HA when I had my /home encrypted
during install.
I believed it was caused by an eee-tray applet I had installed - and
because of that + a few other things, I decided to nuke it and re-
install.
That was in Beta 2 - since then, I have re-installed and do not
