Now I had a reboot and after a suspend mode I could refresh it, but the
effect I have reported has happened me multiple times, I simply cannot
understand it.

I have the same problems with gwibber on 10.04, 64bit.
After resuming from suspend, gwibber won't refresh. If I close it and
try to open it again, I get just a grey window from MeMenu->Broadcast,
nothing from Applications->Internet->Gwibber and the following when
starting it from a terminal:
