Actually had it working under 10.04, recently upgraded to 11.04 and just after to 11.10 and now I am on 11.10 Xubuntu and I can suspend the machine and it all looks like it goes down correctly, but when I resume (pressing any key) machine starts up and pretty quickly shows the grub menu and does a
