Exit code -11 (as per your original report) means a segmentation fault,
which in this context indicates a hardware fault. This may be a serious
hardware fault in the machine (as you suggest?), or it may just be
problems reading from the CD. My general advice in the latter case is to
try burning the
I'm not sure exactly why the computer will not boot. Are you implying
that it is a hardware failure? Unfortunately, without the logs it's
probably impossible to figure out what went wrong.

Re request of Vassilis Pandis to attach /var/log/installer/syslog,
/var/log/syslog, and /var/log/partman: The computer on which I tried to
