Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17
I don't know if this is the case on dapper too, but when I moved my AP to channel 13 today (because of interference on other channels), the ipw2200 in my laptop couldn't connect anymore. Apparently, the EEPROM of my card has 'Geography ZZM' which doesn't allow for this: [17179590.336000] ipw2200: Detected geography ZZM (11 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels) The problem is: I'm in the Netherlands, where 13 channels are perfectly allowed. The ipw2200 driver doesn't seem to have a mechanism for switching this 'geography' value, which leaves channels 12 and 13 unusable. They do (or at least, channel 13 does) work in Windows, on the same laptop. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- ipw2200: Can't connect to networks on channels >11 https://launchpad.net/bugs/57606 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
