using the default configuration? If not what did you change to it?

It does it with or without supertux being closed / open. Supertux just
seems to be helping at times.

It looks like the screen is being resized by supertux and then when the
screen is made bigger, the panels are not dealing with it. Maybe a
supertux or X bug?
