Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

im not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but i might have stumbled on
somethign very serious. ubiquity fails to install unless im using debug mode.
without debug mode i manage to get my drive formatted after turning of acpi
during boot up. after partitioning it gives me lots of error messages regarding
shared objects and what is being installed is a different version on the cd, in
my case live usb. tried a 2nd usb and the same issue. some of the objects after
hitting retry get installed but in the end the entire install fails. the error
says its errno5 input/output. this occured using 2 different usb pen drives.
running ubiquity -d from the command line all i got one shared object error
which i was able to get installed.

attached should be the bug report that you wanted riddell.

i am also noticing when i get what seems a kernel panic during install
there are 2 errors with smbus smb1 and smb2 im on an nforce 750i chipset
on my asus p5n-d motherboard. im not sure if those could be the issues
with the i/o errors im getting.
