Some Problem with my Thinkpad W510. But I have found a workaround for me:
You have to plug in the soudcard before you boot and you have to use the usb2.0
Port not the 3.0 port. I have no clue, why this is a difference but for me this
works. Nevertheless this sucks.

I have a similar issue, except it's with my Creative X-Fi USB. The input
shows up the outputs do not. It worked briefly with 2.6.35-22 but now
with 2.6.35-23 is does not work again.

Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0ccd:0028 TerraTec Electronic GmbH Aureon 5.1 MkII
pavucontrol shows only input devices for the soundcard but no output devices.

again today with the latest kernel in Lucid (2.6.32-24-generic
#39-Ubuntu SMP) and it still has the same problem. Here is the info from
