Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

F-spot should be able to resize photos as an 'edit' operation, not
merely when exporting to a gallery or web application. There is a
plugin to enable this, but it is not installed or enabled by default.

The use case is that I want to scale a few images down before emailing
them. It is not at all obvious when looking at the edit menu that
resize should be anywhere else. Once you do find that you can resize
when doing export, it is less useful than an edit option since you
cannot preview the resized image to see if it looses too much detail.
