efa, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .

I'm getting this problem on lucid without the /proc/bus/usb message. This is very annoying since I'm going to have to do a reinstall, there does not seem to be a way of repairing the system I've tried from the grub menu and upgrade CD. Essentially X doesn't start. I tried to modify fstab to make

I tested with: linux-image-2.6.32-02063211-generic_2.6.32-02063211_i386.deb the error on boot happen the same. The bug is about the boot process that stop and wait a user imput (press S), while it can simply write the error on console and log and continue the boot without user intervention. **
