Unfortunately the driver seems pretty poor and does not say in its error
message what filename it is looking for.
Most likely that is the problem, you may need to read the driver source
code to determine the correct filename.
It should be placed in /lib/firmware

Thanks for the note. I put the firmware in a number of locations,
trying to get it to work. Copies are in:
/lib/firmware/en
/lib/firmware/
/lib/firmware/
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-26-686/
