Public bug reported:

Since running a distribution upgrade from Karmic 9.10 to Lucid 10.04. I
have not had any OpenGL rendering, direct acceleration. When I tried to
reinstall fglrx it failed initially (fixed, this is not the bug), but
has installed now only I still don't have any direct acceleration
ability.

I've tried running glxinfo, but only get:

$ glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
Segmentation fault

I do not know where to go with this problem and am unsure whether it is a
software issue.
