Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10

2) apt-cache policy yelp
yelp:
  Installed: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2.28.0-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What I expected to happen is when I opened up Help via the icon in
top left and migrated to:

"5.2.7. IPv6 Not Supported

   1. IPv6 is supported by default in Ubuntu and can sometimes cause problems.
   2. To disable it, open a Terminal (Applications ▸ Accessories ▸ Terminal)
and type the command: gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/aliases.
   3. Find the line alias net-pf-10 ipv6 and change it to read alias net-pf-10
off.
   4. Reboot Ubuntu."

I would follow the recommendations and I could disable IPv6.

4) What happened instead is that it tells me to open the file aliases in
the directory etc/modprobe.d but no such file exists:

n...@name-laptop:~$ cd /etc/modprobe.d
n...@name-laptop:/etc/modprobe.d$ dir
alsa-base.conf blacklist-firewire.conf blacklist-watchdog.conf
blacklist-ath_pci.conf blacklist-framebuffer.conf libpisock9.conf
blacklist.conf blacklist-modem.conf
blacklist-fglrx.conf blacklist-oss.conf
