Hush, problem resolved!
The problem might been caused because of gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly package,
I and Pedro Villavicencio think so...
Just reinstall this package if anyone else getting such a similar problem!

I have the same problem. It occurs for any mp3 file that I have tried. Ogg
files work just fine.
log attached of playing a single mp3. Open rhythmbox. Select file and play. The
progress bar doesn't update.
I'm pretty sure this worked before I updated to 0.12.8-0ubuntu5

Strangely the problem was that I had removed gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
to see if it would help with another problem. When I reinstalled it the
time bar started working again for mp3 files which are MPEG ADTS, layer
III, v1

Yes. It also helps to disable the crossfading backend which messes up
MPEG ADTS, layer
III, v2 mp3s for me.

to downgrade to the earlier version of rhythmbox.

Ubuntu better, however the report is missing some information, may you
please run rhythmbox as: rhythmbox --debug rhythmbox-debug.txt ;
perform the steps to reproduce the bug and attach that resulting log
file to the report?

Sir, as you recommended me to grab a log file of rythmbox... As you
given, I started the command... But from last 2+ hours, it's not
completing the operation... So, lastly a while ago, I aborted the
operation of that rythmbox-debug.txt file's creation.
