Calc should print out Grid by default

I think it is expected that it will not be printed and that's what cell borders
are for.
The Grid option you mention is per document which I think is perfectly
acceptable.
You could perhaps suggest having a global setting for this but that would need
to be done upstream now at

I might say that this is the option that already exist in Calc rather
than wish, but is hard to find. It's under: Format Page Sheet
Grid. And whenever I mark the Grid the feature is available only for
present session, the next opening of Calc the feature is disabled.

Calc should print out
I don't know that people expect this. Even so, since this is more of a
wishlist item, your best bet for getting it implemented is to file an
upstream bug and link the two bugs.
