I'm experiencing the same thing in Dapper (kino 0.80). I had Kino working flawlessly with Debian Etch (Kino 0.90) -- and was able to import all types of video formats with its new transcoding support using mencoder and ffmpeg. [Bug 58867] Re: [edgy] Kino 0.90-1ubuntu2 fails to startd

I'm experiencing the same thing in Dapper (kino 0.80). I had Kino working flawlessly with Debian Etch (Kino 0.90) -- and was able to import all types of video formats with its new transcoding support using mencoder and ffmpeg.
