Public bug reported: Every session I have been in has crashed at some time. Sometimes when it has been running all day unattended while I am crunching work units for s...@home and sometimes when I am just browsing, or reading mail, or editing a file. Just now, when I started this session, I hadn't been booted into Ubuntu for more than 5 minutes and kablooey, looking at blank screen and no response to either keyboard or mouse. Had to use the hard reset on the computer. This is the most common end result of a system crash. A couple of times, the mouse cursor has been left on black screen but it totally unresponsive. I am a new user of linux and was assuming it was at least as stable as my main OS/2 operating system, eComStation 1.05. It stays up forever, it wraps the uptime counter past 50 days often until I decide to reboot to clear memory leaks. I run 24/7 crunching s...@home on my only computer. I have looked at all the system and message logs but since I am totally new to linux, have no idea what I am looking for.
