Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome
After the upgrade to lucid network-manager-applet has a red exclamation mark on the icon, with a left-click i get "networmanager is not running" (but it is), with rigth-click all seems normal (network and notifies are checked but trying to unckeck them fails), if i hover the icon i get "Network disabled"... With: killall nm-applet nm-applet --sm-disable & i got: ** (nm-applet:9259): WARNING **: get_all_cb: couldn't retrieve system settings properties: (2) The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerSystemSettings was not provided by any .service files. ** (nm-applet:9259): WARNING **: fetch_connections_done: error fetching system connections: (2) The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerSystemSettings was not provided by any .service files. With: apt-get --purge remove network-manager network-manager-gnome network-manager-pptp network-manager-pptp-gnome reboot apt-get install network-manager and network-manager-gnome reboot doesn't change anything. With: sudo dhclient eth3 i can get the ethernet connection to work, but nothing changes in nm-applet. (I do not have wicd installed) Luckly (wisely) i've cloned my system (on 2 machines, with different hw) to test the upgrade, but i can't really upgrade to lucid until this is fixed, please help me ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lucid networking nm-applet upgrade ** Also affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nm-applet not working after upgrading to lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
