*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 554172 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554172 This is due to CUPS not starting on boot. To get your printer working a again after boot you do not need to re-install any package but running sudo /etc/init.d/cups start should make your printer visible
