Binary package hint: ubuntu-restricted-extras

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 x86. During my attempt to install ubuntu-
restricted-extras with Mozilla Firefox installed (that seems to be the
key; I've not seen this error before as I do not use Firefox), I was
greeted with the following error:

Attempting to purge ca-certificates-java only cause more problems, as
apparently the dpkg configuration was corrupt.
