I'd guess that your BIOS is set to GMT+8 rather than GMT. If you right
click on the clock in the top right corner and choose "change date and
time" then press synchronise it should set ubuntu to be the right time.
You can also use the "synchronise with internet clock" functionality
there.

The proper fix is to set your BIOS clock to GMT.
