Something many people don't know, but is documented in the on-line Help:
you can make short jumps by holding Shift down while pressing Left or
Right arrow.

What would be really cool, is if you could right-click on the buttons
themselves, and upon doing so, a context menu pops up that allows you to
immediately adjust this duration. That way, as you watch different types
of videos, you could immediately adjust the skip-durations to your
liking for the
