Thank you for reporting this bug. However, I cannot reproduce this
behavior on Gutsy. Could you please test it against Feisty or newer and
determine if it is still occurring? Also, if you have any other hints
as to how to reproduce it, it would be much appreciated.

This was using init.d's startkdm invocation. Nothing custom there.
The driver is nvidia, but I don't see why the driver would affect this.
This seems to be more core behaviour.
