It doesn't seem like you successfully had apport gather a crash report.
You can make it so apport its always on, and then turn it off after you
successfully gather a report if you're having problems.

The entire command is 'ls -l /var/crash/*firefox*' without the quotes.
It is the list command, it lists a directory's components, you can find
out more about it by typing 'man ls'

ok so if I've well understood each time I switch on my pc I have to do the sudo
apport command and than start firefox.
of course I can not provoke the program to crash but hopefully it will happen
and generate the crash report
is this correct?

help in resolving your problem.
