You can do that as long as you can reproduce the crash. Im gonna close this
bug. seems to have been a 1 time crash and im betting it was due to the spell
checker since i assuming it hasnt happened since.
Please feel free to reopen it when you can reroduce it and can grab the
backtrace by

I took a look at the link you gave, and I'm not sure I got something
right. It says I should run firefox as firefox -g 21 | tee
gdb-firefox.log.
Can I do that all the time (that is, change the shortcut to that) so I
can get the log for an unexpected crash? I see such bugs relatively
often (once
Can you confirm this happens on Firefox version 1.99+2.0rc2+dfsg-
0ubuntu1? and if you can can you please install firefox-dbg and run a
debugging backtrace. PLease run the backtrace if this issue is still
reproducible.

Not really. I never tried reproducing the bug, and I don't remember
exactly what I was working on at the moment. I just sent the backtrace
because the error reporter asked me to. Sorry. Anyway, it was a one time
thing, I continued working OK after restarting the browser.
