Using the generic printer driver, as described in the thread cited, does
in fact speed up printing.

Same problem on Canon imageRunner 2200 and Canon imageRunner C2250 using
the pxlmono and pxlcolor drivers respectively.
Printing documents that are substantially text is OK. Documents
containing images can be very slow and the printer sometimes outputs
part of the page containing the image and

Can you attach error_log files of different jobs as described in CUPS

While a job is processing, run the command top in a terminal window to
see which processes take
